The qualifications for this position are an MS with an emphasis on bacterial genetic engineering and 2-3 years of experience, or a BS in bacterial genetics/molecular biology with 5-6 years of bacterial genetic engineering experience. Progenesis' laboratories are located in the Biotechnology Center/Engineering Complex on the campus of Marshall University in Huntington, WV and offers a stimulating commercial/academic environment.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate will help formulate and then execute genetic engineering strategies to produce alginate biopolymers with unique compositions relative to the current soure, brown seaweed. In addition there will be genetic engineering approaches to increase the yield of alginate polymers from Pseudomonas species in order to obtain viable commercialization. Experience in genetic engineering is a necessity, as well as familiarity with various analytic techniques such as PCR, Western blotting, HPLC, and immunoassays. This position will also require working with colleagues in the College of Engineering and School of Pharmacy in developing nanoparticles for drug delivery and formulation to stimulate wound healing.
