The role of the Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner is to help assist the physician on duty within the Hospitalist Department. The role will involve seeing follow-up patients, review previous notes, consultants' notes, pertinent labs and radiology studies. The PA/NP is also responsible for ordering appropriate testing, medications, and/or consultants. Must document findings and plans for the patient to be reviewed by the physician. The PA/NP will also aid in billing by documenting appropriately and as thoroughly as possible. The Hospitalist PA/NP must maintain confidentiality at all times and respond to the needs of patients, visitors and other health care team members in an appropriate manner. The PA/NP will perform within their scope of practice as defined by their training and their license. The PA/NP would be responsible for continuously maintaining their license and certifications to practice as a PA in the state of West Virginia. The shift of this position will be 4:00 pm to 12:00 am (midnight). Master's Degree - Required WV License - Required CPR - Required ACLS- Required NCCPA- Required 1 to 2 years position related experience - Preferred
